| Victor Hart is an Indigenous person who was born on the Aboriginal community of Hopevale, Cape York, Queensland. Victor has taught and researched in the field of Indigenous studies for the past 10 years and has been actively involved in Indigenous community affiairs in the Brisbane region. He is currently the Manager of QUT's Oodgeroo Unit, which has the major responsibility and commitment to developing better access and input to university education for and by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. | ||

Sue Whatman is a non-Indigenous lecturer who was born in Murwillumbah, Minjungbal country, in far northern NSW, and is a graduate of QUT. Sue has worked in different faculties of QUT and Central Queensland University before commencing her job here at the Oodgeroo Unit in 1993. Sue is currently the liaison lecturer for Indigenous students enrolled in the faculty of Creative Industries and she teaches Indigenous studies in the Education Faculty and at QUT Carseldine. With a health and physical education teaching background, Sue has an active research interest in health education for Indigenous girls and a strong commitment to incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, content and pedagogies into QUT courses. Sue recently completed doctoral studies into community participation in health education decision-making for girls in the Torres Strait and is looking at ways to address issues raised from the research, particularly in relation to pre-service HPE teacher education. |

Mayrah Dreise is an Aboriginal woman, a descendent of the Yeeralaraay/Gamilaraay nations of North West New South Wales and South West Queensland. Mayrah a practicing artist and arts educator who has exhibited and performed regionally, nationally and internationally including Korea and Mexico. With over 15 years experience in education including teaching at various universities, TAFE and schools within Queensland, as a Community Education Counsellor, private consultant and as the Principal Education Officer for Indigenous education at the Queensland Studies Authority, Mayrah has contributed to a body of knowledge and professional practices known as "embedding Indigenous perspectives" within educational institutions. Mayrah was once an undergraduate and postgraduate student of QUT through the Oodgeroo unit and is now currently completing her PhD in The construct of placelessness: institutionalised whiteness as an imposed spatial aesthetic. |

Susan Willsteed is a non-Indigenous associate lecturer who was born and grew up in Turrubal country (Brisbane’s north side), and is a graduate of QUT. Susan has an early childhood teaching background, but has for many years been involved in supporting Indigenous students at all levels of education, and in advocating for the incorporation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives at all levels of education and within the wider community. Susan currently teaches Indigenous studies in the Education and Humanities Faculties at QUT, and is the liaison lecturer for Indigenous students enrolled in the faculty of Education. |

| Lafe has 20 years of experience in the performing arts as an actor, director, designer, producer, along with many other skills in production relating to the arts industry. Working for many of the main stage companies in Australia, Lafe is recognised as one of the leading Indigenous artists in Queensland. Some of the highlights through out his career include: touring Indigenous communities through out QLD and internationally with CONTACT Youth Theatre, performance for the Queen at World Expo 88, facilitating the establishment of Kooemba Jdarra Theatre Company in 93’, 2003 Sidney Myers Award for his contribution over 10 years to the development of Indigenous Arts in Queensland. Until recently he was the Artistic Director of the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts, (ACPA) for 5 years. | ||

Paula Dewis is an Indigenous Australian, born in the Torres Straits - her father’s language is of the Boigu people - Kalaw Kawaw Ya, and her mother’s ancestral Aboriginal language group is Wuthathi people of northern peninsula area of Queensland. Paula has many years of experience in frontline and senior management positions within both the public sector and tertiary environments. Paula has worked in a volunteer capacity on advisory boards and committees in the community sector for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous organisations. Paula is an emerging artist and has participated in three exhibitions in NSW. |

I am a Torres Strait Islander, originally from Darnley Island, Eastern Torres Strait. I have lived in Brisbane for thirty seven years. I attended Business College in Brisbane and on completion started working for a privately owned Toy & Novelties company in Brisbane starting as a Office Junior and progressing to Administration and staying with the company for twenty six years. I had a phone call from Maureen one evening in September 2002, asking if I would like to temporarily fill an Admin position at Oodgeroo Unit Gardens Point. I went for an interview and started work the next day and my contract ended on 30 May 2003and I started at Oodgeroo Unit Kelvin Grove on the 10 June 2003. |

| My name is Cindy Prior, I am a Nnoongar woman from the Ballardong Nation which is in the south west region of Western Australia. My role at the Oodgeroo Unit is Personal Assistant to the Manager. My previous positions have included Administrative Assistant at Yunggorendi First Nations Centre Flinders University and Personal Assistant to Professor Lowitja O’Donoghue AC, CBE. Peter Lind is an Indigenous person whose family originates in South-West Queensland and Townsville. His father was born in Ipswich and Peter was born and raised in Brisbane, where he has lived and worked for all of his life. He worked in the State Government from 1982. After completing his Business Degree in 2000, he completed the ATSIC Indigenous Graduate Program and moved into a Policy and Program Officer role in the National Office of Business & Economic Development. He worked as a Business Development Officer in DEWR from 2002 until 2005, when he became the Chief Executive Officer for the South East Queensland ATSI CDEP Ltd. Peter has taken on the role of Communication and Marketing Officer for the Oodgeroo Unit and is keen to see even more Indigenous students study at QUT and to make use of the services that the unit has to offer. |

| Sonya Hunter is a Nyikina woman whose family originates from Western Australia. Sonya lived in Darwin for thirty-seven years and has been residing in Queensland since 2001. She has worked in the indigenous education field for over twelve years in roles such as Aboriginal Resource Officer and Inconclusive Support Assistant, specialising in front line student support. Sonya is currently an Administrative Assistant for the Oodgeroo Unit where she has worked since 2006. | ||
